What AI receives when it helps map your spreadsheet

In this guide

Key sections from this documentation page.

AI Data Mapping helps match spreadsheet columns to PawPlacer fields. It receives column headers and form definitions, never row values.

What AI Receives

  • Column headers, such as Pet Name, Animal Type, or Date of Birth
  • Available PawPlacer field names, labels, and types
  • The selected form type, section names, and field types available for suggested new fields

For example, AI can see a column named Email Address. It does not receive the email addresses stored under that column. Rename a header before importing if the header itself contains personal information.

What Stays Out of AI

Spreadsheet row values, including pet names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, notes, and the choices used to prefill a suggested field, are not included in the mapping request.

PawPlacer reads and prepares the spreadsheet in your browser. Importing saves the reviewed records to your workspace; it does not send those row values to AI for mapping.

You Review the Suggestions

AI suggestions do not create fields or save imported records on their own. Review the mappings and any suggested fields before confirming them. Records are saved only when you confirm the upload.

AI Data Mapping is optional. Exact and partial column matching still work without AI. See AI Features for the available settings and Data Uploader for the import steps.
