Open Calendar directly from the main navigation to review date-based work across the organization. The section combines tasks, events, medical occurrences, feedings, follow-ups, foster and surrender activity, meet and greets, transports, volunteer shifts, and other scheduled records that your permissions allow you to see.
The workspace item was previously labeled Upcoming. If you are looking for Upcoming, open Calendar directly; there is no separate Upcoming navigation item to open first.
Calendar's Table view is an operational inbox, not a universal create page. Create the source record in its normal area, then use Calendar to review, open, complete, or reopen the dated item.
Date Range, View, and Search
The header shows the current date range, total visible items, and summary counts. Use:
- The previous and next buttons to move one range at a time
- The date field to jump to another date
- Today to return to the current range
- Search to match an item title, pet, staff member, or status
- Calendar view to open the same schedule in a calendar layout
Switching between Table view and Calendar view preserves the current schedule filters.
Filter the List
Use the type chips to show or hide individual item types. All restores every available type and None hides them.
The filter rail provides:
- Assignment: All, Assigned, Unassigned, or Mine
- Staff and pet filters
- Status and priority
- Generated or manually scheduled medical occurrences
- Specific occurrence kinds when they are present
Active filters appear as removable chips above the results. On smaller screens, the same controls open from the filter button.
Work by Type
Items are grouped into expandable sections such as Tasks, Events, Exams, Vaccines, Feedings, Transports, and Shifts. Each section shows its result count and initially displays up to 10 rows. Choose Show more or Load next page when a section contains additional records.
Each row shows the item, date or time, linked pets, assignee, and status. Select a row to open its available detail panel or source record.
Prescription dose times and feeding slots are generated from their underlying schedules. To change those times or frequencies, edit the prescription in Medical or the feeding schedule on the pet's Food section rather than editing the Calendar row.
Complete Work
Supported rows provide an inline completion control:
- Medical occurrences can be marked complete or reopened.
- Feeding entries can be completed or undone.
- Meet and greets can be completed or returned to their prior state.
Other items open their normal task, event, medical, food, or record workflow. Updating an item refreshes Calendar.
Where to Create Items
| Item | Create or schedule it from |
|---|---|
| Event | More > Events |
| Task | The relevant pet, person, event, or task workflow |
| Exam, vaccine, procedure, or prescription | A pet's Medical section or the corresponding Medical workbench |
| Feeding or supplement serving | A pet's Food section |
| Meet and greet | The related adoption or applicant workflow |
| Foster, surrender, transport, or volunteer work | The matching record's workflow |
If an expected item is missing, check the selected date range, type chip, assignment and status filters, permissions, and whether the source record actually has a due or scheduled date.
Access
Calendar combines several permission areas. You see only the schedule data your current medical, task, event, volunteer, foster, adoption, transport, and other operational permissions allow.
