The Tips page is a setup hub for PawPlacer features your organization may not have finished configuring. It looks at your workspace activity and highlights useful next steps, such as publishing your public profile, customizing forms, setting up email templates, copying widgets, importing records, configuring fundraising, syncing Petfinder, registering microchips, or saving custom reports.
Accessing Tips
- Open Settings
- Make sure the settings sidebar is showing Organization Settings
- Click Tips
Tips are available to admins and privileged users. If a recommendation links to a page you cannot edit, the action button is disabled and asks you to contact an admin.
Feature Setup Progress
The top panel summarizes setup progress:
- Done: Recommendations PawPlacer can detect as complete, or items your team completed from a tracked action
- Active: Recommended setup items that are still open
- Dismissed: Items someone dismissed from the recommendations list
- Total: All tracked recommendations
The progress bar excludes dismissed items. If a dismissed recommendation later becomes complete, it moves to Done automatically.
Recommendation Tabs
Use the tabs to filter the list:
- Recommended: Active setup suggestions
- Done: Completed suggestions and the evidence PawPlacer detected
- Dismissed: Hidden suggestions that can be restored
Recommendations are grouped by area: Website, Automation, Operations, and Growth.
Recommendation Actions
Each recommendation includes a short explanation, evidence about why PawPlacer thinks the item is or is not complete, and an action button that opens the relevant page.
Use the action menu on a recommendation to:
- Dismiss an active recommendation
- Restore a dismissed recommendation
Dismissal only changes your setup checklist. It does not disable the related PawPlacer feature.
Permissions
Admins and privileged users can view the Tips page. Individual action buttons still respect the permissions of the destination feature, such as Forms, Widgets, Petfinder, Microchips, Reports, or Dashboard settings.
