Pet Profile Integration

How to create and track tasks associated with specific pets

Pet-linked tasks appear inside the pet profile, so animal-specific work stays attached to the right record.

Viewing Pet Tasks

  1. Open a pet profile
  2. Stay on the About tab
  3. Find the embedded Tasks section

The section lists tasks linked to that pet and sorts them by due date. Select a task to open the task side panel.

Creating a Task From a Pet Profile

  1. Open the pet profile
  2. Find the Tasks section on the About tab
  3. Click Add Task
  4. Select a board when prompted
  5. Complete the task details
  6. Click Create Task

The pet is selected automatically. You can add more pets from the task form if the task applies to multiple animals.

When No Boards Exist

Pet profile task creation requires at least one task board. If there are no boards, the pet profile shows an option to create a board from the Tasks page.

Editing Pet Tasks

  1. Open the pet profile
  2. Select a task from the Tasks section
  3. Update details in the task side panel
  4. Click Update Task

Changes appear on the pet profile, the task board, dashboard task widgets, and schedule views where applicable.

Archived Pets

Archived pets keep their existing task history, but PawPlacer prevents new task creation and task editing from archived pet profiles.

Unarchive the pet if you need to resume active task work for that animal.

Multi-Pet Tasks

A task can link to more than one pet. Use this for group walks, shared transport, litter care, or any other task that applies to multiple animals.

The task appears in each linked pet profile.

Good Uses for Pet Tasks

  • Medication or procedure follow-up
  • Vet appointment preparation
  • Behavior work
  • Adoption paperwork
  • Foster handoff steps
  • Grooming, bathing, or feeding instructions
  • Photo or bio updates

Tips

  • Include pet-specific details in the description
  • Add a due date when the task should appear on schedules
  • Assign the person responsible for the next step
  • Use tags to separate medical, adoption, foster, and admin work
