Public Profile
Your public profile is your organization's online presence on PawPlacer. It gives potential adopters, fosters, volunteers, and donors a way to learn about your organization, browse available pets, and submit applications; no account needed.
Once enabled, your profile is accessible via a shareable link you can post anywhere: social media, your website, email newsletters, or printed materials.
What Visitors See
A public profile can include any combination of the following, depending on what you enable:
- Organization details: name, logo, description, and contact info (email, phone, website)
- Social media links: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, and TikTok
- Location: street address with an interactive Google Maps embed
- Operating hours: daily schedule with the current day highlighted
- Adoptable pets: a browsable gallery of available animals with photos and details
- Application forms: adoption, foster, and volunteer applications that visitors can fill out directly
- Events and flyers: public events and downloadable marketing flyers
- Wishlist: public wishlist needs with product links and optional item funding
- Donations: accept general contributions through Stripe or show external payment links
Supporter Giving Flow
Your public profile is the starting point for donor activity. Supporters can give a general donation from the support card, fund a specific wishlist item, pledge a physical wishlist item, or follow a product/payment link. PawPlacer records these as donation activity and links them to donors and wishlist items whenever possible.
This keeps public giving visible to supporters while giving your team one internal place to review, confirm, and reconcile support.
Enabling Your Public Profile
- Navigate to Settings from the sidebar
- Find the Profile Visibility card
- Toggle Enable Public Profile to ON
- Your profile is immediately live
When you first enable the profile, most visibility options (location, schedule, applications, events, flyers, payments, and wishlist) are enabled by default. Public donations stay off until an owner enables the Donations toggle deliberately.
Controlling What's Visible
After enabling your profile, each section can be toggled independently:
| Section | What It Controls |
|---|---|
| Location | Your street address and interactive map |
| Schedule | Your operating hours for each day of the week |
| Adoption Applications | Whether visitors can submit adoption applications |
| Foster Applications | Whether visitors can submit foster applications |
| Volunteer Applications | Whether visitors can submit volunteer applications |
| Events | Public events displayed in a separate tab |
| Flyers | Active marketing flyers displayed in a separate tab |
| Payments | Whether public payment and support sections can show Stripe or external payment options |
| Wishlist | Public wishlist tab for items marked Public Visible |
| Donations | General public donations and wishlist funding through Stripe or tracked external payment methods |
Who Can Manage This
Only organization Owners can enable, disable, or configure the public profile. Team members with other roles will see a permission notice if they try to access these settings.
