Sharing Your Profile
Once your public profile is live, you'll want to share it. PawPlacer provides several ways to reach potential adopters and supporters.
Organization Profile Link
Your main profile URL is:
https://pawplacer.com/shelters/[your-organization-id]
Find your exact link by going to Settings > Profile Visibility and clicking View Public Profile; share this link on:
- Your website's "Adopt" or "About" page
- Social media bios and posts
- Email newsletters and campaigns
- Business cards and printed materials
- Community boards and partner websites
Individual Pet Links
Every publicly visible pet has its own shareable page at:
https://pawplacer.com/search/[pet-id]
To copy a pet's link, open their profile in PawPlacer and click the clipboard icon near the visibility toggle; the URL is copied to your clipboard.
Individual pet pages show the pet's photos, details, temperament, compatibility, and adoption fee, plus your organization's contact information and location (if enabled). Visitors can apply to adopt or foster directly from the pet's page.
What Visitors See on a Pet Page
A pet's public profile includes:
- Photo gallery
- Name, breed, age, sex, size, coat length, and color
- Spay/neuter status
- Temperament badges
- Compatibility notes (good with / not good with)
- Special needs or medical conditions (if any)
- Adoption fee
- Your organization's info and location
Private details like medical records, intake information, staff notes, and internal documents are never shown publicly.
Testing Before You Share
Before promoting your profile widely, take a few minutes to verify everything looks right:
- Open your profile link in a private/incognito browser window
- Check that your organization info, hours, and location are accurate
- Browse the pet gallery and click into a few pet profiles
- Test each application form (adoption, foster, volunteer) if enabled
- Verify your social media links open correctly
- If donations are enabled, confirm the payment flow works
