Pet Visibility

Control which eligible pets appear on public pages and widgets

Key sections from this documentation page.

Visibility RulesPublish an Individual PetStatus Changes

A pet appears on the public organization page and Pets widget only when every visibility rule is satisfied.

Visibility Rules

  1. The organization's Profile Visibility is on.
  2. Show adoptable pets is on in Settings > Organization Details.
  3. The pet is not deleted.
  4. The pet has a status marked public in Settings > Pet Configuration.
  5. That status uses the In care care state.
  6. The pet has at least one image.
  7. The pet's individual public-visibility control is on.

A pet that fails any rule remains internal.

Publish an Individual Pet

Open the pet profile and use the visibility action near the page header. PawPlacer explains any missing prerequisite, such as a photo or eligible status. Once the pet is public, use the adjacent sharing action to copy or open its public link.

To prepare profiles before launch, leave individual visibility off while adding photos and public information, then publish each pet when it is ready.

Status Changes

Public eligibility follows the status's current Pet Configuration settings. Moving a pet to a private, Placed, or Out of care status removes it from PawPlacer's public results.

Changing a custom status's care state may be restricted while pets are assigned to it. Reassign those pets before restructuring the status.

Petfinder

Petfinder synchronization is outbound and does not add Petfinder-only records to the PawPlacer gallery. Manage the source pet and its public visibility in PawPlacer.
