Profile Sections
Your public profile is built from several sections, each of which can be toggled on or off independently. Here's what each section looks like to visitors.
Profile Header
Always visible when your profile is enabled. Displays:
- Your organization logo (or a colored circle with your first initial if no logo is set)
- Organization name
- Organization description
- Contact details: email (clickable), phone number, and website link
- Social media icons for any platforms you've configured (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, TikTok)
To update these details, go to Settings > Organization.
Location
When enabled, shows your organization's physical address along with an interactive Google Maps embed. Visitors can click a link to open directions in their maps app.
To update your address, edit it in Settings > Organization.
Operating Hours
When enabled, displays your schedule for each day of the week. Closed days are clearly marked, and the current day is highlighted so visitors can quickly see if you're open.
Set your hours in Settings > Schedules.
Pet Gallery
The pet gallery is the heart of most public profiles. It displays your available pets in a browsable grid with photos, names, species, breed, and age. Visitors can:
- Browse pets with pagination (24 pets per page)
- Filter by species (dogs, cats, etc.) and sex
- Sort by newest, name, or intake date
- Click any pet to view their full public profile
A pet appears in this gallery only when all of the following are true:
- Your public profile is enabled
- The pet has a public, in-care status, such as Available or another in-care status you've marked public in Settings > Pet Configuration
- The pet has at least one photo
- The pet's individual visibility toggle is turned on (the eye icon on their profile)
Application Buttons
When adoption, foster, or volunteer applications are enabled, visitors see action buttons that link directly to your application forms. These forms are the same ones you've configured in Settings > Forms, displayed in a clean public layout.
If a visitor arrives from a specific pet's profile, the application can be pre-filled with that pet's information.
Events Tab
When enabled and you have public events, an Events tab appears on your profile where visitors can see event names, descriptions, and locations for adoption days, fundraisers, meet-and-greets, and more.
Flyers Tab
When enabled and you have active flyers, a Flyers tab appears showing your marketing materials that visitors can view or download as PDFs.
Donations
When donations and payments are enabled, visitors can contribute directly from your profile. If you have Stripe connected, they can give by card through Stripe Checkout. If you have external methods saved, they can start a tracked PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, Bitcoin, or Ethereum payment with a PawPlacer reference that staff reconcile later.
Wishlist
When wishlist visibility is enabled, public wishlist items appear in a dedicated tab. Visitors can:
- Fund available items through Stripe when the item accepts monetary donations
- Start a tracked external payment when external public payment methods are configured
- Pledge that they bought or will send a physical item
- Open the item's product URL and buy directly from the retailer
Only available public wishlist items appear. Fulfilled, archived, fully received, fully funded, or fully pledged items are hidden automatically.
