Tracking Transport Details

Monitor and update transport progress

Tracking Transport Details

The transports page displays all transport services in a sortable, searchable table. Here's what each column shows:

Service Column

The service name you assigned to the transport, with the route displayed below it as "from location to location."

Driver Column

The assigned driver's name, with their phone number or email shown below for quick reference.

Pets Column

Displays pet avatars for the animals assigned to the transport. If more than a few pets are assigned, additional pets are indicated with a count badge.

Dates Column

Shows departure and arrival dates. If only estimated times have been set, they're displayed with an "est." prefix. Once actual times are recorded, those take priority.

Updated Column

When the transport record was last modified. This column is sortable and hidden by default on narrower screens.

Searching and Sorting

Use the search bar above the table to find transports by service name, driver name, or location (both from and to addresses). Press Enter or click the search button to apply the search.

The table defaults to last updated, newest first. Use sortable column headers where available, and use the page size control to show more or fewer rows.

Tracking Transport Progress

A typical transport workflow looks like this:

Before Departure

Open the transport profile, verify the route, driver, schedule, pets, cost, and notes, and make any last-minute updates through Edit Transport.

Recording Departure

When the transport leaves, open Edit Transport, fill in Actual Departure, and save. The table and profile timeline will show the actual departure date instead of the estimated one.

Recording Arrival

When the transport arrives, open Edit Transport, fill in Actual Arrival, and update Miles Covered if the actual route differed from the estimate. Save to finalize the record.

Cost Tracking

PawPlacer tracks transport costs at two levels:

Transport Cost is the base cost for the entire transport service: fuel, driver compensation, vehicle wear, tolls, or whatever categories make sense for your organization.

Individual Pet Costs are per-pet charges for things like special handling, medical equipment, crates, or documentation fees. These are set when assigning pets to a transport.

On the transport profile, the Cost section shows the base transport cost, total pet costs, and combined total. Individual pet costs also appear on the transported pet cards when a pet has a cost.

How Transports Feed Driver Statistics

Every transport you create contributes to its assigned driver's running statistics. The driver's total trips count goes up by one, their total miles accumulate, and the trip is categorized as either a ground trip or an air trip based on the transport method. You can see these statistics on any driver's profile page.

Pagination

The table shows 10 transports per page by default, with options for 25, 50, or 100 rows. Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to move between pages. Your current page position is preserved when you navigate to a transport profile and return.
