Creating and Editing Transports

Create a Transport

Open More > Transports and click Add Transport. The dedicated form page is divided into five sections.

Transport Information

  • Service Name (required).
  • From Location and To Location (required).
  • Driver (required).
  • Transport Method: Car or Air (required).

The From field starts with the organization's saved address when one exists. Location fields use address suggestions when Google Maps is available. Only active drivers are offered for new assignments; if no driver exists, the form links to Add Driver.

Schedule

Enter any of:

  • Estimated departure.
  • Estimated arrival.
  • Actual departure.
  • Actual arrival.

Estimated times support planning. Actual departure and arrival determine whether the list and profile show Scheduled, In transit, or Completed.

Cost and Distance

Record the base transport cost and miles covered. Use the calculator button beside Miles Covered after both route locations are present, or enter the mileage manually.

Pets

Search for each transported pet, add it to the list, and optionally enter that pet's cost share. A transport can include multiple pets.

Internal Notes

Use notes for handling instructions, contact arrangements, vehicle requirements, access details, or other staff-only context.

Save and Edit

Click Add Transport to create the record and open its profile. From a transport profile, choose Edit to open the same fields on a dedicated edit page, then click Save Changes.

A driver's Transports panel also has Add Transport. That action opens a side panel with the same fields and preselects the current driver; existing transport rows there can be edited in the same panel.
