The Medical Suite is where you handle every piece of your pets' healthcare. It's the one place to track veterinarians, medications, and full medical histories for every animal in your care.
What You Can Do in the Medical Suite
The Medical Suite dashboard links to four main resource areas:
- Clinics - Manage veterinary clinics and hospitals with their contact information, hours, and associated veterinarians
- Veterinarians - Manage individual veterinarians, their specialties, services offered, and track pet care statistics
- Medications - Maintain a database of medications used for your pets
- Prescriptions - Track all active and historical prescriptions with refill monitoring and expiration alerts
Accessing the Medical Suite
- Log in to your PawPlacer account
- Navigate to the main menu
- Select Medical
Understanding the Interface
The Medical Suite provides both a desktop and mobile-friendly interface, optimized for each device you're using:
- Desktop View: Full data tables with comprehensive information
- Mobile View: Card-based layout with essential details for on-the-go management
Required Permissions
To access and edit information in the Medical Suite, you need the Medical Manager role. Users without this role will see a permission banner and read-only information.

Clinic Management
- Add and edit clinic profiles with complete contact information
- Set clinic operating hours and track current availability
- View all veterinarians associated with each clinic
- Maintain clinic descriptions and service information
Veterinarian Management
- Add and edit veterinarian profiles with clinic associations
- Record individual veterinarian hours and specialties
- Track services offered and their costs
- Monitor which pets have been treated by each veterinarian
- View comprehensive statistics on treatments and costs
- Assign primary veterinarians to pets
Medication Management
- Create a custom medication database with dose options
- Track prescription requirements and medication types
- Add detailed medication information including dosage and route
- Include cost estimates and safety warnings
- Auto-populate prescription forms with medication defaults
Prescription Management
- Create and track pet-specific prescriptions
- Monitor refills and expiration dates
- Receive alerts for expiring prescriptions and empty refills
- Link prescriptions to veterinarians and clinics
- Track prescription status (active, completed, stopped)
- View pet-specific prescription tiles and daily dose status on pet profiles
Medical Scheduling
- Track overdue and upcoming medical items from pet profiles and the Upcoming page
- Mark scheduled medical occurrences complete from cards, upcoming tables, or the opened medical form
- Unmark completed medical occurrences when they need to return to pending or overdue status
