Use Clinics to keep a directory of the veterinary clinics, hospitals, and specialty centers your organization works with. Clinics can store contact information, addresses, map coordinates, hours, veterinarians, and treatment statistics.
Viewing Clinics
Open Medical, then select Clinics. Clinics can be viewed in two modes:
- List view: A searchable table of clinics
- Map view: A map and clinic sidebar for location-based browsing
Use the table icon and map pin buttons near the page header to switch views.
List View
The table includes:
- Clinic: Clinic name, profile image, email, and phone when provided
- Location: Address
- Veterinarians: Associated veterinarians shown as badges
- Updated: The last time the record changed
Use search, filters, sorting controls, the page size selector, and pagination to manage long clinic lists. If no clinics exist yet, PawPlacer shows an empty state with an action to add your first clinic.
Map View
Map view shows your clinics on a map with a clinic sidebar. The sidebar lists each clinic's phone, address, today's hours, and associated veterinarians. Click a clinic in the sidebar to focus it on the map, or use the external-link icon to open the clinic profile.
On mobile, the clinic list appears in a slide-out sheet so the map stays usable on smaller screens.
Adding a New Clinic
- Click Add Clinic
- Complete the form sections
- Click Save
Basic Information
- Name (required): Clinic, hospital, or practice name
- Address: Full street address. Selecting a suggested address also stores map coordinates.
- Phone and Email: Main contact information
- Website: Clinic website or appointment link
- Description: Notes about services, parking, emergency policies, or other details
Operating Hours
Use the weekday switches to mark each day open or closed. Turning a day on fills a default schedule; adjust the open and close times as needed. Closed days display as closed in the hours section and map sidebar.
Editing a Clinic

Viewing Clinic Details
Clicking a clinic opens its compact profile. The profile includes:
- A profile header with contact details, description, and summary metrics
- Metrics for clinic tenure, veterinarian count, total treatments, and total revenue
- Contact information with email, phone, address, and website links
- An activity timeline that includes recently associated veterinarians and the clinic creation date
- Statistics for total pets, average treatment cost, and veterinarian count
- Associated veterinarian cards with contact details, specialties, pets, services, and average cost
- Details and weekly hours
- Treatment history broken down by procedures, vaccinations, and exams
Users with edit access can click the profile image area to upload a clinic profile image.
Deleting a Clinic
To delete a clinic, open the profile actions menu and choose Delete. PawPlacer asks for confirmation before deleting the record.
Veterinarian Association
Veterinarians can be associated with clinics from the veterinarian add/edit form. Moving a veterinarian to a different clinic is as simple as editing the veterinarian's profile. Clinic profiles aggregate statistics and veterinarian cards from the veterinarians linked to that clinic.
Best Practices for Clinic Management
- Keep clinic hours updated to always know which facilities are available
- Use address suggestions when possible so map view can place clinics accurately
- Use the description field to note emergency services, specialties, parking, or appointment instructions
- Regularly review the associated veterinarians to ensure accurate clinic assignments
- Add website URLs for online booking, portals, or clinic resources
- Delete clinics only when you are sure the record is no longer needed
Integration with Medical Records
When you create medical records and prescriptions, the veterinarian's clinic association helps PawPlacer connect care back to the right clinic. Clinic information appears through linked veterinarian records, and treatment statistics roll up to clinic profiles for easier reporting.
