Open and Search a Profile
Open Fosters, use the workbench views, search, facets, or sort controls, then select a foster row.
The profile toolbar includes Profile, Documents, Search this foster, and Print. Search narrows the center panels.
Profile Information
- The identity header shows status and linked roles.
- Metrics summarize tenure, current and completed fosters, and average duration.
- The left rail contains Contact and Home facts, capacity, profile/status notes, tags, and document navigation.
- The center contains applications, assignments, custom details, email history, and accessible AI matches.
- The right context column contains Activity and Team Notes.
Edit Details
Eligible foster records show Edit.
- Open the profile.
- Click Edit.
- Update the configured foster form.
- Save.
The edit page uses the same active template and existing values, including custom fields and agreement data.
Foster capacity is the maximum number of concurrent pet assignments, not a separate “Animal Preferences” panel:
- Open the foster profile and select Edit.
- Find Capacity in the configured foster form.
- Enter a positive whole number and save.
The left rail then shows used capacity, and the assignment workflow blocks a new placement when active assignments have reached it. If Capacity is missing from the edit form, ask a Form Administrator to review the foster template in Settings > Forms; the system Capacity field may be hidden by the current form layout.
Documents and Notes
Open Documents in the toolbar to upload, preview, download, update, or remove foster files. Foster documents are also available in the central document library.
Use Team Notes in the right context column for threaded staff discussion. A single saved profile note and the latest status notes appear with the profile facts when present.
Archive, Restore, and Delete
Open the action menu:
- Archive changes the record to Inactive and can be used after the foster has no current pets.
- Unarchive restores an inactive record when allowed.
- Delete permanently removes a record and should be reserved for erroneous data.
Return or transfer active placements before archiving.
Convert Roles
The action menu can create a linked adopter or volunteer role when the person does not already have it. Shared contact details are copied into the new role, while role-specific applications, statuses, placements, notes, and documents remain on their respective records.
