Open a Foster Profile
- Open Fosters from the main navigation.
- Search, filter, or sort the list as needed.
- Click a foster's name to open the profile.
The current profile is a compact page, not a tabbed page. Summary metrics appear in the hero, supporting information appears in the left rail, and assignment/custom/email work appears in the main column.
Hero and Metrics
The top of the profile shows:
- Foster avatar or initials.
- Name, status badge, contact shortcuts, and tags.
- Foster Since
- Currently Fostering
- Completed Fosters
- Average Duration Days
Click the avatar to upload or replace the profile image. Click the status badge to change status when that action is available.
Information Rail
The left side of the profile includes compact cards for:
- Contact: Email, phone, and current application/status value.
- Home: Address and capacity usage.
- Note: Internal foster note, when present.
- Status Notes: Notes from the latest status change, when present.
- Activity Timeline: Recent status changes, assignments, documents, and profile creation.
- Documents: Upload, preview, download, edit, or delete foster files.
- Team Notes: Internal threaded notes for staff with Foster Coordinator access.
Main Profile Area
The main area includes:
- Assignments: Foster assignment cards with status filters, pet photos, dates, notes, and actions.
- Custom Details: Custom form answers grouped by your form sections.
- Email History: Sent email records, subjects, timestamps, and delivery context.
- AI Matches: Matching recommendations below the profile when matching is enabled.
Assignment cards link to the pet profile and show action buttons based on the assignment status.
Editing Foster Information
The Edit button appears next to the action menu for active foster statuses.
- Open the foster profile.
- Click Edit.
- Update the form fields.
- Save the foster form.
The edit page loads the same form template used when the foster was created, including custom sections and agreement fields.
Documents
Use the Documents card to store files such as foster agreements, IDs, home visit notes, licenses, or reports. Documents uploaded on a foster profile also appear in the central Documents area as entity documents.
The compact document manager supports upload, preview, download, edit, and delete actions.
Notes
Use Team Notes for internal collaboration. Notes are separate from the single profile note field and support team discussion on the foster record.
Archiving and Deleting
Open the action menu to archive, unarchive, or delete a foster.
- Archive changes the foster to Inactive and is disabled while the foster has current fostered pets.
- Unarchive restores an archived foster, except blocked records.
- Delete permanently removes the foster record.
Use assignment actions to return or transfer active pets before archiving a foster.
Converting Roles
Active fosters can be converted to linked adopter or volunteer roles from the action menu when that role does not already exist. The conversion dialog lets you choose whether to keep the foster role active or move the person fully into the new role.
Linked roles appear on the foster list and in the role switcher on the profile.
