    Adding and Managing Volunteers

    Add a Volunteer

    1. Open More > Volunteers.
    2. Click Add Volunteer.
    3. Choose a volunteer form template when more than one is available.
    4. Complete the form and click Add Volunteer.

The current template controls the fields. Common fields include name, contact details, address, roles, languages, certifications, availability, experience, notes, tags, and other program-specific questions.

    Find Volunteers

Use status views to switch the roster, search by name or email, and narrow the current view with one or more tags. Sort by name, recency, status, or linked roles.

The workbench can show status, linked adopter/foster roles, schedule, custom fields configured as list columns, and updated date. Optional columns can be enabled from the table's column controls.

    Profile Layout

Select a row to open the volunteer console:

    • Header: avatar, status, address, tenure, and linked-role chips.
    • Metrics: Volunteer Since, Upcoming Shifts, Hours This Year, and Documents.
    • Facts: contact, application/status information, and saved notes.
    • Panels: Profile Highlights, Availability, Upcoming Shifts, Custom Details, and Email History when data exists.
    • Footer areas: activity and team notes.
    • Toolbar: Profile and Documents views, profile search, and print.

Click the avatar to upload a profile image when you can edit the record.

    Status and Actions

Statuses are Pending, Active, Training, Inactive, Denied, Suspended, and Blocked.

For a non-pending record, click the status badge to open the status-change dialog. The action menu can provide:

    • Send Email, when an appropriate template and email address are available.
    • Archive or Unarchive.
    • Convert to Adopter or Convert to Foster.
    • Delete.

Conversion can add the new role while keeping the volunteer role, or replace the volunteer role. Archive preserves the record as Inactive; delete permanently removes the volunteer role.
