Before submitting registrations, connect your organization's PetLink Animal Professional account.
Enter Connection Details
Open Settings > Microchips and find PetLink Connection. Enter:
- PetLink account email
- PetLink password
- Shelter ID and shelter email, when PetLink assigned them
- Vet ID and vet email, when they apply to the account
The shelter and veterinarian fields are optional, but adding the identifiers associated with the account helps PetLink return the correct organization profile.
Test and Save
Choose Test Connection to validate the credentials and organization information. When you test a new password successfully, PawPlacer saves the connection and refreshes the PetLink organization and veterinarian summaries.
You can also choose Save to store the connection without testing it. After setup, the page shows Connected and a summary of the associated PetLink profile. Choose Edit to update the details.
When changing an existing connection, leave the password blank to keep the stored password. Enter a new password only when it needs to be replaced.
If the Test Fails
Check the email and password first. If PetLink recognizes the account but reports that API access is unavailable, the organization's PetLink account needs API access enabled before PawPlacer can validate and submit chips.
See Troubleshooting for registration-specific errors.
