History on the Adopter Profile
Open the adopter's Pets tab. It separates relationships into Adopted pets, Pets of interest, and Past pets.
Rows can show:
- Pet photo, name, species, breed, and link to the pet profile.
- Relationship state.
- Interest, adoption, or return timing.
- Adoption fee when recorded.
- Return reason or related timeline context.
Activity and Team Context
The right context column shows recent Activity for the adopter. Use Team Notes beside it for staff discussion that should stay with the person record.
Adoption Records
Each completed adoption has its own receipt record under Adoptions. The record contains the placed pets, payment ledger, signed-contract details when captured, follow-up plan, receipt notes, documents, activity, and team notes.
Open an adoption record when you need payment, receipt, follow-up, or return details. Use the adopter profile for the person-centered overview.
Returns
When an adoption is returned:
- The adoption record is marked Returned and keeps the reason and date.
- The pet relationship remains visible on the adopter profile.
- The pet is moved back into the configured available status.
- The original fee, donation, and payment context remain on the adoption record.
Returns do not erase the historical adopter-pet relationship.
