    Pet Relationships

The Pets in Their Care panel keeps each adopter-pet relationship in one of these states:

    • Pending: The adopter is interested in the pet.
    • Adopted: The adoption was completed.
    • Returned: The adoption was later returned.

An adopter needs at least one pending pet before Start Adoption is available.

    Add Pets

    1. Open the adopter profile.
    2. Find Pets in Their Care.
    3. Click Add pet.
    4. Search and select one or more eligible pets.
    5. Add optional interest notes.
    6. Click Add Pets to Adopter.

The selector only offers pets that can be added to this adopter. If a selected pet has bonded companions, PawPlacer includes them and identifies the bonded group before you save.

    Work With the Pet List

Filter the panel by All, Pending, or Adopted. Each row links to the pet profile and can show the pet's photo, basic details, relationship state, fee, interest or adoption date, and return information.

Available row actions depend on the state:

    • Adopt starts the workflow for one pending pet.
    • Remove disconnects pending interest without deleting the pet.
    • Unadopt removes the adopter-pet link when correcting an adopted relationship.
    • Delete adoption record removes an adoption record created in error.

Returned relationships remain visible as history and do not expose ordinary pending or adopted actions.

    Start a Multi-Pet Adoption

Use Start Adoption in the profile header to include all pending pets in one adoption session. Use Adopt on an individual row when only that pet should be included.
