Description
Copper-Please read his BIO's carefully. Please understand when we share that our cats are very shy, we are being very transparent about their needs. Shy does not just mean that they may hide from you when you come to visit, it means they may be very uncomfortable with a new person/people. This may cause them to retreat or freeze. We ask that you please be very mindful of this and understand that it will take time to build a relationship with them. Please do not impose on their space and implement strategies that our Behavior Team can share with you. If you are truly interested in adopting one of our shyer cats, we strongly encourage you to do multiple visits and work with our Behavior Team. This may give you the opportunity to see sprinkles of their beautiful personalities that they share with those they trust. Copper Intake 07/9/2022 live trapped DOB 12/01/2021 Copper is very shy and is very good with other cats. Due to his shyness, we recommend no young children in his future home. He has no history of dogs, however our Behavior Team will provide guidance and support to ensure that Copper feels safe and secure with any introductions. Copper is very playful and enjoys Churu treats when he is comfortable with your presence. Copper accepts petting from people he knows and trusts, however he is learning to be around other people with positive based methods. Our volunteers work steadily to help socialize cats like Copper so that they he is comfortable around people and helps him to generalize interactions so that comfort can transfer to new and unfamiliar people. This will also help with a transition to a potential home. Copper will need a home with another sweet cat(s) that will help guide him to feel safe, secure and confident in his purrever home. Copper is in our Beluga Room and in order to meet him and interact you will need to be accompanied by one of our Cat Behavior Expurrts! After you meet him and feel he is a good match, you will need to have a second visit with our Adoption and Care Coordinator. We will provide guidance and support to help make his transition to your home one that is successful, supportive and filled with love.
