Hercules

Please understand when we share that our cats are very shy, we are being very transparent about their needs. Shy does not just mean that they may hide from you when you come to visit, it means they may be very uncomfortable with a new person/people. This may cause them to retreat or freeze. We ask that you please be very mindful of this and understand that it will take time to build a relationship with them. Please do not impose on their space and implement strategies that our Behavior Team can share with you. If you are truly interested in adopting one of our shyer cats, we strongly encourage you to do multiple visits and work with our Behavior Team. This may give you the opportunity to see sprinkles of their beautiful personalities that they share with those they trust. Hercules, is seeking out his purrfect home(s). He is part of a shy bunch who are seeking out homes that will not only be understanding of the time needed to help them feel safe and secure, but will really listen to our guidance to set their transition up for success. Hercules is very shy with new people and does not enjoy being handled, so he will need a home with previous cat experience or one that is willing to work with us to help his transition be super successful. He will require a home without small children as he is easily startled and does not like to be touched/picked up. Hercules is very playful and does very well with other cats who are gentle and engaging. He flies in the air to catch peacock feathers and other wand toys. When he trusts you he approaches and will lay down next to you. Please respect his space and help him to feel safe. Soft voices, soft footing and using tools like the peacock feather or wand toys are what is recommended to build a positive connection with Hercules.
