Pet limits mean the number of pets currently in your care. Pets that have been adopted, transferred, returned to owner, or given any other out-of-care status do not count toward that limit. You never lose old pet records: their full history stays accessible and authorized users can still correct record details. Moving a pet back into care requires available plan capacity or an upgrade. You can customize which statuses are in care or out of care to match your workflow.
