How PawPlacer collects, stores, and protects information.

PawPlacer account data is minimal

Creating an organization requires your email, name, phone number, and organization address. Invited team members need only an email address; a display name is optional.

Organizations control their workspace content

Rescue teams decide what to collect in applications, forms, pet records, notes, documents, donations, and volunteer workflows. PawPlacer provides the tools and access controls for that content.

Rescue records can be private

We do not ask users for legally defined sensitive categories to create an account. Organization forms and records may still contain private rescue context, such as home details, vet references, foster notes, surrender narratives, medical notes about animals, and documents. We treat that content as customer workspace data and protect it through tenant isolation, access controls, encryption, and audit-oriented product design.

No ads or data brokerage

We do not sell user data, broker user data, serve ads in PawPlacer, or use shelter, adopter, foster, volunteer, donor, or pet records for third-party marketing.

Analytics are not customer-record targeting

PawPlacer may use privacy-conscious product and website analytics to understand reliability, usage, and campaign performance, but not to target rescue records, customer workspace content, or private animal welfare data through advertising networks.

Operational processors

PawPlacer uses service providers for hosting, database storage, payments, email delivery, error monitoring, legal policy display, address autocomplete, and AI or document-processing workflows. These providers process data only for the product, security, support, and reliability purposes described here and in our agreements.

How PawPlacer uses AI

Organization-level AI features start turned off. Import column mapping runs automatically and sends unmatched column headers and form field labels, not row data, to OpenAI. Enabled AI workflows send only the data they need. AI matching is unavailable in GDPR-restricted regions, and OpenAI API data is not used to train models by default.
