By proceeding with the adoption process, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure the well-being of my pets and clarify the responsibilities of all parties involved.
Eligibility for Adoption
Adopters must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid government-issued ID. You must demonstrate the ability to provide a safe, loving, and stable environment for the pet. This includes securing consent from all living in the household and, if renting, proof of permission from the landlord to house a pet.
Adoption Process
The adoption process includes a comprehensive application, an interview with the rescuer (Ciara Duncan), and possibly a home visit through videos and/or photos. Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue reserves the right to deny any application based on our assessment of the pet's best interest.
Pet Care Commitment
By adopting a pet, you commit to providing it with necessary veterinary care, including regular check-ups, vaccinations (if applicable), and emergency care. You agree to provide a nutritious and appropriate diet, fresh water, protection from dangers, and a loving environment.
Return Policy
If you are unable to continue caring for the pet, you agree to return it to Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue rather than abandoning it or surrendering it to another party or shelter. You understand that adoption fees are non-refundable except under specific circumstances determined by the shelter.
Non-transferability of Adoption
The adoption is non-transferable. You may not sell, give away, or otherwise rehome the pet without the express consent of the Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue (Ciara Duncan), which retains the right of first refusal.
Liability Waiver
The adopter agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue and its affiliates from any and all claims, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions, and causes of action arising out of any act or occurrence from the adopted pet's actions or behavior. You acknowledge that the rescue cannot guarantee the health, behavior, or temperament of the pet.
Data Privacy
Personal information collected during the adoption process is used solely for the purpose of ensuring a good match between the pet and adopter and will not be sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law.
Agreement to Contact
You agree to allow Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue to contact you for follow-up purposes and to verify that the pet is well-cared for. This may include texts, phone calls, emails, or home visits if necessary.
Amendment and Governing Law
These terms and conditions may be amended by Heartwing Haven Pigeon Rescue at any time. The adoption and any disputes arising under it will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the rescue is located.
