Pebbles was born just outside the Sanctuary to one of the dogs we took from the another Animal Welfare Sanctuary in 2019. Her mother Blanca was always very unsociable and escaped from the Sanctuary a couple of days after we brought her in. She never went far but also never came close enough for us to catch her. She gave birth to nine pups outside the Sanctuary in March 2020. Three puppies died, six survived. Despite being brought up in the Sanctuary, all the pups were really unsociable we just couldnt get near them. Like her siblings, she is very healthy but she is still so very shy. The others are now much more interested in people but Pebbles is still a little nervous. We even put all the puppies in quarantine kennels for a few weeks to try to socialize, but it didnt work they were so resistant to human contact. Over the years she has become more accustomed to the staff and volunteers, and we think she knows now there's nothing to be afraid of.
