By proceeding with the adoption process and signing this agreement, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure the well-being of our pets and clarify the responsibilities of all parties involved.
Pet Care Commitment
By adopting a pet, you commit to providing it with necessary veterinary care, including regular check-ups, vaccinations, and emergency care.
You agree to provide a nutritious diet, fresh water, adequate exercise, and a loving environment.
Promise to attach a leash to this pet's harness or collar EVERY TIME the pet is outdoors and not in a safely enclosed area until the pet clearly understands this is the pet's new home [as to not risk escape], and to allow the pet to play or walk off-leash ONLY in a safely enclosed area [same reason as stated above]
Promise to NEVER abuse or neglect this pet or allow it to be abused by others.
The adopter is responsible for any training needed and agrees to utilize Positive Reinforcement training methods and techniques Only, and agrees to NEVER subject the pet to AVERSIVE BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION METHODS OR TOOLS, ensuring the pet is well-behaved, emotionally happy, and socially adjusted.
*As part the adoption, we will provide upon request and as needed for the time the pet is in your care, complimentary behavior assessments and consultations by our highly experienced Certified Positive Reinforcement Trainer and Canine Behavior Specialist in the form of phone, text, and/or email consults and if needed and as requested, virtual and/or in-home behavior consultations and training sessions. - these will be offered as the trainer's schedule permits and within a reasonable distance of the trainer's home if in-home sessions are requested/needed. Importance of Pet Insurance
We strongly recommend securing pet insurance for your new family member to help manage any unforeseen medical expenses that may arise. Pet insurance can provide peace of mind by covering costs related to accidents, illnesses, and even routine wellness checks, ensuring your pet receives the care they need without financial stress. Choosing the right insurance provider is an important decision, and we encourage you to research and select the best option for your pet's needs.
*As part of the adoption, you will receive a complimentary 30-day Pet Insurance Certificate via Trupanion (https://www.trupanion.com/) sent in a post-adoption email.

Return Policy
If you are unable to continue caring for the pet, you agree to NOT PLACE the pet in a shelter, state, county, or city animal control facility or rehome without first giving the Rescue the option of receiving the animal back and/or assisting with vetting the potential new home.
*Receiving the pet back is based on rescue home/foster availability
*If the Rescue is unable to take the pet back, the Rescue will assist, upon request, any required/necessary rehoming by helping to showcase on social media rehoming sites and other adoption sites, in addition to assisting in vetting any potential applicants, to included as requested, home checks and providing rehoming agreements. - if you choose to complete the rehoming effort on your own; the rescue still needs to be part of the vetting process, the RESCUE MUST be notified when the new owner is chosen so the RESCUE can insure the microchip registration is properly transferred.
Non-transferability of Adoption
The adoption is non-transferable. You may not sell, give away, or otherwise rehome the pet without the express consent of the Rescue, which retains the right of first refusal.
Liability Waiver
The adopter agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the Rescue and its affiliates from any and all claims, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions, and causes of action arising out of any act or occurrence from the adopted pet's actions or behavior. You acknowledge that the rescue cannot guarantee the health, behavior, or temperament of the pet.
Data Privacy
Personal information collected during the adoption process is used solely for the purpose of ensuring a good match between the pet and adopter and will not be sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law.
Agreement to Contact
You agree to allow the Rescue to contact you for follow-up purposes to verify that the pet is well-cared for. This may include phone calls, emails, or home visits.
Amendment and Governing Law
These terms and conditions may be amended by the Rescue at any time. The adoption and any disputes arising under it will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Rescue is located.
