By proceeding with the adoption process, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure the well-being of our pets and clarify the responsibilities of all parties involved.
Eligibility for Adoption
Adopters must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid government-issued ID. You must demonstrate the ability to provide a safe, loving, and stable environment for the pet. This includes securing consent from all living in the household and, if renting, proof of permission from the landlord to house a pet.
Adoption Process
The adoption process includes a comprehensive application, an interview with a rescue representative, and possibly a home visit. We reserve the right to deny any application based on our assessment of the pet's best interest.
Pet Care Commitment
By adopting a pet, you commit to providing it with necessary veterinary care, including regular check-ups, vaccinations, and emergency care. You agree to provide a nutritious diet, fresh water, adequate exercise, and a loving environment. The adopter is responsible for obedience training, ensuring the pet is well-behaved and socially adjusted.
Return Policy
If you are unable to continue caring for the pet, you agree to return it to the rescue rather than abandoning it or surrendering it to another party or rescue. You understand that adoption fees are non-refundable except under specific circumstances determined by the rescue.
Non-transferability of Adoption
The adoption is non-transferable. You may not sell, give away, or otherwise rehome the pet without the express consent of the rescue, which retains the right of first refusal.
Liability Waiver
The adopter agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless the rescue and its affiliates from any and all claims, damages, costs, expenses, loss of services, actions, and causes of action arising out of any act or occurrence from the adopted pet's actions or behavior. You acknowledge that the rescue cannot guarantee the health, behavior, or temperament of the pet.
Adoption Day Photo
I give Furry Godmothers Cat Rescue to use my Adoption Day Photo for their express purposes which include: social media posts, Furrever Found Page, and any advertising efforts on behalf of the Rescue.
I also acknowledge that Furry Godmothers Cat Rescue will not, under any circumstance, share my personal information with anyone without written consent from me.
Data Privacy
Personal information collected during the adoption process is used solely for the purpose of ensuring a good match between the pet and adopter and will not be sold or shared with third parties, except as required by law.
Agreement to Contact
You agree to allow the rescue to contact you for follow-up purposes and to verify that the pet is well-cared for. This may include phone calls, emails, or home visits.
Cost Agreement
I understand the adoption fee for a single cat or kitten is $275 and $500 for a bonded pair. I will make all payments in a timely manner and will reach out to staff should I have any questions.
Amendment and Governing Law
These terms and conditions may be amended by the rescue at any time. The adoption and any disputes arising under it will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the rescue is located.
