AMORE

URGENT AT BALDWIN PARK, CA (SO CAL) ID #A5791100 LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES- "AMORE” - 5 YR, 45 lb, FEMALE PETITE GOLDEN/ LAB X- did well IN PLAYGROUP W/ OTHER DOGS. SHE NEEDS HER FOREVER HOME OR FOSTER & RESCUE TO SAVE HER LIFE!! WHO CAN HELP?

We are in urgent need of finding a responsible and caring home, or foster and rescue, for this adorable girl who was originally found as a stray, then adopted at the end of September by a wonderful senior (80+ years old) family and brought back to the shelter on 10/6 because she has too much energy for their household.

Her adopter said amazing things about Amore: “Best girl ever. She is the brightest dog I have ever seen. Loves to go for walks and follows me around everywhere. Amore is so in need of attention. We were surprised by her strength and her insistence on jumping on people. She needs a younger family who will give her the training she needs to be her best self!”

Amore is listed as a golden retriever mix; however, we believe she is a Golden/ Lab X , but we are unclear what breeds are in her.

Originally, she came in a little timid, she has since warmed up to people and can see being so loving in videos we have and taking treats gently. She also did well in playgroup with other dogs. Volunteers told us she also knows basic commands and enjoyed getting pets she loved.

Her shelter notes, state, “Amore was in the play yard prior to the assessment and was given time to decompress. Amore displayed a relaxed body, loose tail wag, perked ears, open mouth pant, and soft eyes. Amore approached the handler becoming loose and wiggly when receiving petting. The handler was able to examine Amore's ears, mouth, abdomen, back, lower extremities, and tail with case. Amore continued to solicit petting and exposed her belly for belly rubs. Amore could benefit from further socialization and confidence building. Amore is ok for public adoption (no young children please) medium energy level calm dogs recommended.”

A complete copy of both medical and behavior notes may be requested.

While the shelter has made her available to adopt, we are worried her time may run out and are therefore also looking for a suitable foster so a rescue could also help her since most rescues need a place for a dog to go, to rescue a dog.

Amore has been vaccinated and recently spayed and is ready for a loving home.

Therefore, if you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please email robinmorgan@cox.net asap at Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, and we can work on pairing a foster to a rescue group to help. Rescues can assist any further medical if needed.

Rescue groups should contact the shelter asap directly at: DACCBPRescue@animalcare.lacounty.gov and by calling: 626-962-3577 or 626-430-2378 and providing her ID.
