🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED — DFW 🚨 This sweet girl was found Saturday night, 8/15/26, hiding in the parking lot of El Rancho Supermercado near Valwood & Josey in Farmers Branch — wearing a collar with her leash still attached. 💔 We’ve searched for her family and reported her found, but no one has come forward. A kind Good Samaritan has been keeping her safe, but can only do so for a few more days. Now that she’s had time to decompress, we’re starting to see who she really is. ❤️ We believe she’s a puppy, about 6–12 months old — silly, playful, affectionate once she trusts you, loves splashing in her water bowl, and apparently thinks sitting on pool steps is a great way to spend the day. 😂💦 🐾 DOG FRIENDLY: After initial nerves, she’s now trying to get her 75-lb foster dog to play and even tried curling up with him in her crate. 🐱 CAT FRIENDLY/CURIOUS: Gentle and respectful with cats so far, but may want to play or chase like a typical puppy, so supervision is needed. 🏡 CRATE COMFORTABLE: Her crate is her safe space and she settles well. 💩 HOUSE TRAINED: Doing really well and learning quickly, only 1-2 accidents. ❤️ AFFECTIONATE ONCE SHE TRUSTS YOU: With her person, she allows handling, picking up, and touch all over. She is also scared of unfamiliar people, and we want to be fully transparent. When overwhelmed, she may growl or act tough and has snapped when approached too quickly. She is already improving as she decompresses, but she needs someone who understands that trust must be earned, not forced. We are looking for: ➡️ A patient, dog-savvy foster or adopter ➡️ No young children (older, dog-savvy kids may be considered) ➡️ Someone who will let her approach at her own pace ➡️ A home committed to positive socialization and confidence building ➡️ Someone who understands a scared puppy is not a bad puppy ❤️ She has already made amazing progress in just a few days. Underneath the fear is a goofy, playful, loving young dog who desperately wants to feel safe. She doesn’t need someone to “fix” her — she needs someone to show her the world can be safe. Her temporary foster cannot keep her long-term, so we urgently need the right placement. Greatest Need Rescue will provide food, crate, leash, supplies, and veterinary care — we just need a safe, patient home. ❤️ 📍 DFW / Farmers Branch–Carrollton area
