On 2 March 2025, we got numerous calls about a hit and run but all our team were in Zamboanguita doing a mass spay and neuter at the time. Luckily, the person who reported the dog stayed to make sure it was OK until we could get there. Another white dog would not leave her side, and was clearly distressed. We had no option but to take them both. They were named Jinsei (life) and Shiro (white), and x-rays showed Jinsei had a pelvic fracture. There is little to do here other than confine her movement while the fracture healed after a month or so. We must admit, when we first saw how protective Shiro was, we thought maybe Jinsei was in heat, but she wasn't. It really seems to be an unbreakable, strong bond. Jinsei is able to walk, and we take her out twice a day to let her sit in the grass as we believe this helps her immune system to become stronger and the sunlight allows vitamin D production. Being confined in a cage for any length of time causes depression, which affects the immune system and, in turn, affects healing. She is now an active dog.
