Markus

On 5 October 2022, an immobile puppy left out in the rain after a hit and run was reported to us. With nobody stepping up to help, Estella our Adoptions Manager went and picked him up. She took him immediately to Animal Wellness for xrays and he was found to have a fractured pelvis. This is the same injury that Shaun had when we rescued him and with cage rest, being so young, Markus rallied and made a recovery. ?We were relieved to see him poop and wee on his second day with us, which is always a concern for hit and runs as it could mean severe nerve damage and the inability to pass waste. The only option we would have in this case is euthanasia. Luckily that did not have to happen! We let him out a few times every day for a short while, as his movement had to be restricted while his fracture healed. He's grown up to be a very handsome young dog now!
